This style is not easy to do by yourself, and usually I have to attempt it 3 or 4 times before it either passes, or I get impatient and decide to do something else with my hair. It helps to learn this on a friend and then once your muscles are trained you can braid behind your own head.
I started the braid just above my ear, went around the back, over the other ear, and then whatever is left gets braided and laid around my forehead and above the start of the braid. When I get to the end of the braid I secure it with a hair elastic. The end gets tucked into the top of the main braid and then I pin the tail. This is a pretty style to enhance with tiny flowers like strawflowers for a special occasion.

Welcome to my Hairstyle Blog for DIY Hair
I thought I'd kick off my new hairstyles blog by wearing a different hairstyle each day for 30 days. I have long dark hair with a natural wave, so if your hair is like mine, you should be able to do most of these. I've never been much for hair salons. Even when I can afford it, they never do what I ask. Case in point I showed one stylist several photo examples of a gypsy layered cut and halfway through I said, "Excuse me but this doesn't look like it's going in the right direction." And she says, "Well, I thought this style would look better on you." Slow burn. At least if I do it myself I have no one but myself to blame.
